I wanted to say thank you to Kristie and Lori for all the love and work that you do to save these animals. You truly make a difference!!!!!!!!
I wanted to share my story to everyone who visits this site........
My husband and I love animals but just being a pet owner didn't seem like we were doing enough. I didn't realized we could do more until I spoke to a rescurer named Lori. She made us realize you could have a full time job and still foster animals.
My husband and I walked into Bradford County Animal Control and rescued 9 puppies. When we first saw the animals we wanted to take them all. Knowing we couldn't we decided to get the puppies out first. (They were scheduled to be uthanized that day and by the look in their eyes they seemed to have known it too.) Shortly after the puppies left the hot concrete cell they were living in we noticed their tails began to wag as if they knew they were free. We gave them love and attention and they immediately became healthy, strong and happy puppies. All of them went to wonderful homes and we even made some great friends. Seeing the puppies run on acres of land and playing with children remind us why animals are here. They give us so much love and joy!!! We even decided to keep one of them. Well she decided to keep us I guess you could say. We love her so much and hope that others will decide to open thier home and lives to own or foster one of these amazing animals.
God Bless you all!
Love The Meyers...

Hello! My name is Jonathan Lavoie and me and my girlfriend adopted a puppy from you about 3 to 4 months ago from you. We adopted "Clyde" from the brother/sister pair, Bonnie and Clyde. I am happy to report that he is doing great here with us and getting a lot bigger! We renamed him Louie and he seems to like it. When we brought him home the first day our neighbor liked him so much she went to you and adopted Bonnie, who is doing well also we keep in contact with her. We'll be posting pictures up of him shortly! Thanks and good luck for the rest of the animals!

Hi, I wanted to let you know that we support your efforts. I worked in Bradford Co. from 1988-91 and met my sweetheat (wife) and return there every couple of months. I was thinking recently about Margaret Richie who lived in Starke and how I learned from her to try to help homeless pets. I've had my little dachshund Winnie since 1988 (she's 19!). I live in Tallahassee and I've worked to help rural rescue groups since I moved from Gainesville in 2000. Congrats on your success so far and know that many others are out there rooting for you!!!

Hello my name is Pam
I live in starke and I wanted to tell you about a red noise pit bull that was brought to me. His name is red man. Someone brought him to me because they know that I love pit bulls and I try very hard to rescure any and all that I can. Red man came to me a couple of months ago with his ear cut off very low as if someone cut them off thier self.It also looks as if they tryed to use him for a bate dog.But he is a very sweet animal. He sleeps with me and just about goes every where with me. He is so gental that when my new grandson crys he comes running to let someone know and if we do go running to the baby red man goes and lays he noies on his chest.what I'm trying to say is that not all pit bulls are not mean. and that me myself will be here if at any time paws needs help with a pit please e-mail me I would be glad to help. all my children are grown so now I have several four legged children small and large.
So again thank you to all people who enjoys one of gods gifts to us which is all animals in this world.
thanks again
pam

Its nice to have somewhere to vent. I don't have such good stories but wanted to share.
I had started feeding the neighborhood cats when we had the hurricanes so I inherited some. Then one of my neighbors put antifreeze out and killed three of mine and three others from the neighborhood. Charges were filed and he cut a deal. Meanwhile one of the cats he killed had just had kittens on my back porch so I had to take care of them. When they got old enough I gave two away and couldn't find anyone to take the other two, so I kept them. My husband got attached to one and I the other (even tho I'm allergic to cats). Dec 27th one of the cats went missing so I hunted for days every where, called him, rang his dinner plate he didn't come home. I went to animal shelter Jan 2nd and she told me she had one like mine but he had went with a rescue group to south Fl and didn't tell me which one. I came home and googled all the groups down south and called and emailed them but they all said they had not picked up a black cat from animal control here. I kept checking back at the shelter and hes never shown up. Well Jan 17th the other cat went missing and has never shown up anywhere. Now I have found a female stray that has one front leg damaged from what looks like a clamp type trap. I can't pick her up nor get her in a cage but I have bandaged the leg and its healing. It appeared that she was trapped in it and pulled her leg out. Now I wonder if someone is trapping the animals in this neighborhood with illegal traps? If so what are they doing to them?
I for one don't agree with keeping all animals inside all the time and can not understand these fine christian people harming any of Gods creatures. He gave the animlas to us to have companionship in our old age and some people are just so cruel to harm them.
Look at the cities that have cat laws, they are over run with rats. I have got a stray female that I had spayed in January and think if we put the money into fixing cats instead of killing them we could slow the population. Between rescue groups and having a Vet at the shelter to spay and neuter we could cut a lot of this out. We spend money on killing them when they have done NO wrong. Look how they are using dogs now to relieve the stress of our troops, any animal can bring happiness to a person.
If you have an animal in the area of South Epperson or Westmoreland please watch out because thats where these animals are going missing and where this stray is with the damaged leg. Give some feedback on my idea of fixing these cats instead of killing them and lets see what we can accomplish.
Thanks Kristie and Lori for all of your hard work.

It is a shame that people don't learn that if you let you cat outside this is what will happen. Life span for a cat that is let outside is 4-5 years. Many millions of cats live happy lives inside only.

If there was ever a time to get involved, it is NOW! The Bradford County Sheriff's Office has seen fit to suspend rescue efforts due to a very minor infraction, in my opinion. Anyone associated with BC PAWS are aware of the work that Kristi Dickens does for this county and these animals. Again they have suspended any type of rescue activity relating to BC PAWS, with the attitude that THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW MANY EUTHANIZATIONS TAKE PLACE! Call BCSO NOW PLEASE
